Sat, 18 November 2006 Opening up with the B-side to their new hit single, the lads launch into the world of 'waka', or Japanese poetry. This time the 'tanka', a five-line form a bit meatier than the humble 'haiku', takes centre stage, and Dave tells us of ancient poetry competitions in which it was customary to award first prize to the crappiest poem. Who says we don't cover Japanese stuff on the show any more? Andy's band STAVKA (www.ardle.net/stavkahome.htm) pump the intermission full of steaming punk in the shape 'The Wall', after which our mysterious contributor Preston Mendoza phones in a confession concerning his feminine side. Andy briefly muses on an inappropriately-named range of bath products before heading into the action with the much more manly topic of war, today focussing on the Clint Eastwood flicks 'Flags of Our Fathers' and its counterpart 'Letters From Iwo Jima.' And there's an end on't! abombcity@gmail.com www.abombcity.com www.hirohurl.net www.ardle.net www.myspace.com/abombcity Comments[363] |
